Let’s talk about leggings and tights! Yes winter is almost over, but as we all know, there will be lots of days in the coming months that will call for a pair of leggings or tights.
There are so many options too, but I’m afraid a lot of us get stuck in a black legging rut. There’s no need, ’cause there are so many options!
My personal fave – charcoal opaque tights, these lovelies are from Trenery. I love to wear these with booties or long boots and I prefer charcoal as opposed to black, as they are much softer and more complimentary than their black counterparts.
My next faves are these footless charcoal tights from Bonds (around $15). These are fabulous for spring, as they can be worn with sneakers and flats!
I have them in black too, great for when I’m wearing higher contrasting outfits! Don’t be scared to cuff your tights to show some ankle, this is often more flattering, and a necessity for shorties like me!
Please don’t stick to plain black and charcoal, if you see tights with pretty patterns or colours please indulge! I nabbed these beauties from a little boutique in Paris, they were a little pricey, but 4 years on and no runs!!!
Now for that burning question, can you wear leggings as pants?
In short yes, but only if :
a) they are thicker than normal tights like Ponte pants (even still make sure your top covers your bum).
b) you wear them with a top, jumper, coat or vest that covers your rear end and vajayjay
c) you are wearing them to workout (just make sure they are not see through or pilling!).
I quite often wear these thicker wet look leggings with just my chambray shirt.
Have I missed any? Please share your favourite way to wear leggings and tights!
