What do you think of my neon pink blazer? I bought it last summer and have worn it often!

Surprisingly it is incredibly versatile, I can dress it up to wear out at night, down to wear during the day, but more often than not I combine it with a blouse, knee length skirt and pumps and wear it to work!

I got so many compliments on it today, mostly I think because how could you miss it! But also because it is bright and cheery! I work with a bunch of Engineers so there were also a lot of ‘high viz’ jokes!

My dear friend gave me this beautiful scarf yesterday as a thank you gift and I love it, she has impeccable taste!  I also knew as soon as I saw the neon pink in the pattern that I would be able to wear it with this jacket!

As you can see from these pictures, the multi-coloured patterned scarf actually tones down and softens the jacket. It also gives me a lot of colour options to select a shoe in (today I wore my bright yellow pumps).

What do you think ladies, would you wear this much neon to work, or do you think I belong on a construction site, Lolz?

I had a lot of fun wearing this outfit, mostly because it’s a bit edgier than I would normally go, though I feel this may be more my style while my hair is like this.

Your hair has a huge impact on your image, for years I have had shoulder (or slightly longer) blonde hair, every now and again I would get a fringe cut in or go a bob. When I went the big chop a month ago it not only changed how my hair looked, it also changed how I see myself and interestingly, it changed other people’s perception of me. I actually didn’t think about all of that at the time I said to my stylist “chop it!”, if I had I may have backed out, especially as I have had to come to terms with the fact that some of the clothes I used to wear (case in point this Review floral dress) may not really suit me any more!

Anyway what’s done is done and what I have found is my shorter edgier do, has given me the confidence to follow some of Nat’s (From Defined Image) style elements, that in the past I felt wasn’t me. Case in point number 2 the wearing of a short and long necklace together at the same time!

I can’t seem to get enough of yellow at the moment, especially this Elk necklace given to me by a very dear friend. I love this necklace, not only because of the colour and shapes, but also because it is adjustable, which is really handy as the neckline of this top is too high.

If you are buying a necklace, especially if you are investing a bit of money, make sure it is either adjustable or sits precisely in the right spot, otherwise it will never look quite right and you won’t wear it! (learn’t that one the hard way!)

I also seem to be wearing these heels a lot, mostly because I wear a lot of blue, and yellow loves blue, but also because they take a relatively conservative outfit (appropriate for the meeting I was attending) and give it a touch of my un-conservative personality!

Unfortunately due to extensive wear, these lovelies are starting to wear out so I am on the look out for a new lovely yellow pump. I found a similar pair (RHS pic) at Joanne Mercer, so I will most likely replace them with these!

What item of clothing can you not live without, that once worn out you will have to find an exact replica?

 I took myself to Target in search of the illusive bargain…and found it, these fantastic ocelot pattern shoes with ankle strap for $25!!!! I love them, and they go brilliantly with my boyfriend shorts and blazer!

I felt a little drab/flat today, so to give me a little (forced) pizazz, I wore a sparkly platinum top, a little bit of sparkle can go along way to lifting you from feeling drab to fab…You have to be careful though to pair it with very casual items, otherwise you will look like you are about to head off to a nightclub!

Do you where sparkly, shiny things during the day, or do you save them for when you go out at night?

No colour says ‘summer’ like yellow, but it can be a tricky colour to match. Yellow can work really well with purple and blue, but it can be hard to find the right hue!

My complexion also dictates that I look best in outfits made up of low contrasting colours. Which means I would really struggle to pull off an outfit made up of bright yellow paired with something in a bold purple.
