Have you notice that it’s happening? The shift that is, from summer fashion to Autumn. I generally find this time frustrating, good luck finding a last minute summer maxi for the wedding you have on this weekend, cause they’re gone, they have been replaced by, suede booties, cable knits and faux fur scarves!
Normally this would drive me nuts but three things happened yesterday that caused me to jump on the ‘it’s time to get ready for Autumn’ band wagon. The weather was un-seasonably cool, I stumbled upon this pic of this great ensemble and I was alerted to the fact that ‘the store’ aka Country Road’s spend and save would expire Sunday!
Off I toddled to ‘the store’ in search for what would become my first Fall purchases….I was on the search for white jeans, grey top/knit, denim jacket and hair coloured booties!
I decided to wear my chambray pants and military jacket as I knew what ever I got would need to go with these, and a navy singlet and hair coloured necklace, cause everything goes with these!
A quick scan of the shop indicated the denim jacket wasn’t going to happen, but there was an abundance of grey and white knits and jumpers and not one but two pairs of hair coloured “oyster” booties, one with a short heal in suede (pictured) and the other a little darker in plain leather with a higher heel. I grabbed an assortment of the jumpers, the booties and a couple of pairs of white jeggings and headed to the change rooms. This grey jumper looked fab with what I was wearing as did this white one…..great start.
I popped the short booties on and instantly fell in love, I had to have these babies, but as they were $200 (with a budget of $300) I was going to have to be very selective of what else I chose, having specific regard for what else I had at home!
To be continued……
